Azerbaijan Institute of Theology organized a meeting with newly admitted students and their parents.

AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov congratulated the applicants who became students and wished them success in this honorable and responsible path. The rector said that being a student is one of the dedicated and honorable stages of human life and stressed the importance of educating young people in this period as patriotic, intelligent, productive specialists for the state and society.

J.Mammadov noted that President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the state-religion policy formed by national leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that many religious places are being restored in the country and religious educational institutions are being established. The establishment of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology is also a vivid example of the state attention to state-religion policy.

AIT rector noted that Azerbaijani education has stepped into a new stage as a result of the far-sighted policy of President Ilham Aliyev. The material and technical base for education is strengthened and necessary conditions for the training of qualified staff is established. He stressed that priority directions of the state policy include educating young generation in a healthy way and providing them with the education meeting the world standards.

Noting that educating well-mannered, intelligent and patriotic personalities is the main objective of AIT, J.Mammadov said the Institute will mobilize all its power as well as the potential to achieve this goal and strive to justify the confidence reposed in AIT. The Rector said students are treated with parent love and advised students to be active in their classes.

J. Mammadov also informed the participants about the educational process and subjects and noted that along with Islam, students have the opportunity to study social structures, beliefs, worship, moral systems of other world religions based on the methods of modern science as well as the social subjects such as philosophy, sociology, psychology and multiculturalism. Stressing that students will be able to learn English, Arabic and Persian at the highest level and use rich library fund, the Rector said that AIT students will be provided with free uniforms and textbooks.

At the end of the meeting, students with higher scores were awarded.
