MP Ganira Pashayeva and Cemalnur Sargut, researcher of Islamic Tasawwuf, visited AIT

MP Ganira Pashayeva, Chairman of the public union Eurasia International Research Institute and Cemalnur Sargut, Head of the Institute for Sufi Studies at Üsküdar University of Turkey visited Azerbaijan Institute of Theology.

AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov expressed his gratitude to the guests for their visit and informed them about the history, activities and international relations of the Institute.

The Rector noted that national and spiritual environment is protected in the country and Azerbaijan Institute of Theology was established by President Ilham Aliyev’s Decree dated February 9, 2018 for the education of professional religious specialists. He further noted that the Institute attaches particular importance to the establishment of international relations outlining agreements with several univiersities of Turkey, Russia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

MP Ganira Pashayeva, Chairman of the public union Eurasia International Research Institute, said she considers the establishment of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology as a significant event for the country. She emphasized that challenging global political processes showcase that the decision was right and timely.

The MP said she believes that the Institute will gain prestige for its role in the development of religious specialists.

Cemalnur Sargut, researcher of Islamic Tasawwuf expressed her gratitude for the establishment of the Institute. Speaking highly of the goals and objectives of the Institute, the researcher wished the Institute success in its further activities. She noted that teaching secular studies and other world religions apart from Islam is commendable.

The meeting participants also discussed bilateral academic cooperation between AIT and the Institute for Sufi Studies at Üsküdar University, mutual benefit from experiences, joint conferences, seminars, academic researches, lectures and exchange of students and academic staff.
