Azerbaijan Institute of Theology has signed a protocol with International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) has signed a protocol of cooperation with International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan for academic affairs and joint research.

Welcoming the guest, AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov expressed his satisfaction with his visit. Giving information about the activities of the Institute, J.Mammadov mentioned the goals and objectives of AIT. The Rector emphasized the importance of using the experience of Uzbekistan along with other world universities to provide education meeting modern requirements. He also stressed that relations between countries stimulate the development of educational ties. J.Mammadov highlighted the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council held in our country. Stressing that the main purpose of the Organization’s activities is to help all-inclusive cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries, the Rector noted that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev attaches considerable importance to the relations with Muslim countries.

Muzaffar Kamilov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, gave information about the organization and International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. He commended Protocol of Cooperation for joint academic and research activities signed between two institutions and stressed that the document would be useful and interesting to both parties. Highly appreciating the Institute’s educational activity, M.Kamilov said that cooperation with AIT would further be develped.

The two institution further signed the protocol based on joint academic and research activities in accordance with the principles of cooperation.
The protocol includes the implementation of research activities based on mutually beneficial cooperation between the faculties and departments of both institutions, implementation of joint projects, mutual academic visits for faculty and doctoral students.

The document covers the transfer of scientific information concerning teaching methods, experience and research, exchange of knowledge for the organization of educational process, conferences with scientists and experts of both institutions, student exchanges and other issues.

At the end of the meeting, the guest familiarized himself with the classrooms and library.

The International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of the Tashkent Islamic Institute by President Shavkat Mirziyoev’s Decree dated April 16, 2018. The Academy admits students from various world countries as well as CIS countries. It offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree education. Majors for undergraduate degree include Islamic Studies, Philology and Language Teaching (Classical Oriental Literature), Religious Studies, International Relations, Economics (Islamic Economics and Finance), Philology and Language Teaching (Arabic), Tourism and Psychology (Socio-Psychology).
