Turkish rectors visit Azerbaijan Institute of Theology
Babur Ozcelik, rector of Konya Technical University, and Cem Zorlu, rector of Necmeddin Erbakan University in Turkey, visited Azerbaijan Institute of Thelogy (AIT).
AIT rector Agil Shirinov welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them at the institute. The rector provided detailed information about the institute, stating that the necessary conditions for students were created in the new building of the institute. He emphasized that education at Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, which is the only higher religious education institution in the country, is completely tuition free. A. Shirinov stated that one of the AITs goals is to train specialists who have a basic knowledge of theology as well as a close knowledge of secular sciences, emphasizing that the university will introduce its first graduates this year.
The Turkish rectors expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and detailed information about the institute. They expressed interest in establishing collaboration after providing information about the organizations they represent.
The parties discussed mutual relations in education and science, long-term cooperation, the application of achievements in the educational process, and the establishment and strengthening of cultural relations.
The meeting continued with a discussion of prospects for the development of joint cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
