Students of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology receive certificates of gratitude

Central Scientific Library presented certificates of gratitude to the staff and students of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology for writing and editing articles in the Azerbaijani language section of Wikipedia.

Elnur Elturk, Deputy Director of the Central Scientific Library, said that various projects are currently being implemented to expand the scope of Wikipedia activities in our country. The Deputy Director noted that currently Wikipedia Center has the following sections: Study of International Experience, Monitoring, Consulting Services, Information Provision, Propagation and Academic Research. He stressed that the volunteers of the center are preparing articles on the history of Azerbaijan, its culture, national and moral values.

Rovshan Mammadli, Senior Specialist of the Central Scientific Library, mentioned the importance of writing articles in the field theology. He said that the necessary information and knowledge in the religious field should be converted to electronic form and delivered to a wider audience. R.Mammadli expressed his confidence that students will be active in this field and will add new Wikipedia articles on religion.

Aytac Mustafali, a second-year student of AIT, said that being Wikipedia volunteers, students will actively participate in the development and publication of religious articles.

The trainings were conducted by Aynur Yusifzade and Sabina Abizade, trainers of the Wikipedia Methodical Center of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS. Up to now, volunteers of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology have prepared more than 50 articles concerning Islamic studies and theology.
