Students of AIT visit CSL

Students of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) under the guidance of Student Youth Organization (SYO) visited Azerbaijan Central Scientific Library (CSL) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Starting their visit through registration section, students familiarized themselves with traditional and electronic catalogues and observed the process of ordering a book and inclusion of books in the catalogues. Students further familiarized themselves with the books on different topics.

Students were further informed about the history, activity and purpose of CSL. It was noted that CSL aims to promote the ancient history and rich culture of Azerbaijan, the political, economic, social and cultural achievements gained during the independent Republic of Azerbaijan, enhance the use of the Azerbaijani language in information resources, improve information support for modern scientific research, establish our national and historical heritage, collect and maintain all existing and newly created information units and present them to the users.

During the visit, students also visited the CSL Diplomatic Fund, Fund of Rare Books, Periodical Press Fund and Reading Rooms.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan Institute of Theology conducts various activities to enrich students’ world outlook and intellectual level, increase their interest in research activities and ensure the active use of libraries.
