Heydar Aliyev Policy: Return to Our National and Moral Values
An event titled "Heydar Aliyev Policy: Return to Our National and Moral Values" was held jointly by the Surakhani District Executive Power and the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (State Committee).
The event was attended by Aziz Azizov, Head of the Surakhani District Executive Power; Agil Shirinov, Rector of the Institute of Theology; Etibar Aliyev, Deputy of the Milli Majlis; Vugar Seyidov, Chairman of the YAP Surakhani District organization; Rauf Mammadov, Head of the Surakhani District Office of the State Security Service; Arif Mammadov, Head of the District Security Department and Anar Kazimov, Head of the Baku department of the State Committee.
Additionally, Anar Kazimov, Head of the Baku city department of the State Committee, heads of administrations, institutions, and organizations from the region, families of martyrs, veterans and members of the local community also participated in the event.
The event participants visited Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s monument located in Amirjan settlement and laid flowers at the monument in honor of the leader.
The event then proceeded to the assembly hall of the District Executive Authority, where Aziz Azizov, Head of the Surakhani District Executive Power, welcomed the guests. The occasion was marked by a minute of silence to commemorate the memory of National Leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their country. The national anthem was also played during the ceremony.
Agil Shirinov, Rector of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, delivered a speech in which he emphasized that the people of Azerbaijan have maintained a rich and enduring system of national and moral values for centuries. These values, which were deeply ingrained in the country culture, were faithfully protected and developed by the people over time.
Agil Shirinov noted that the great leader Heydar Aliyev played a pivotal role in strengthening and preserving these values, which had been laid down as the foundation of Azerbaijanism. He added that the preservation of these values and their transmission to future generations is still relevant today.
A.Shirinov also highlighted the significance of these values in shaping the Azerbaijani people’s identity and in strengthening the country’s national statehood. He noted that the influence of these values on the formation of the Azerbaijani nation is undeniable, and that they continue to play a vital role in the country's development.
Other speakers at the event included MP Etibar Aliyev; Vugar Seyidov, Chairman of the YAP Surakhani District organization; Rauf Mammadov, Head of the Surakhani District Office of the State Security Service, Anar Kazimov, Head of the Baku department of the State Committee; Varaga Almasli, Ph.D. in Philology; Fatemeyi Mirhamid Mammadov, Imam of Zahra mosque and and others.
Varaga Almasli emphasized that the moral foundations of a national state must be aligned with national values. She noted that Heydar Aliyev, throughout his life, safeguarded spiritual, moral, and religious values and traditions of Azerbaijan. V.Almasli also highlighted Heydar Aliyev’s strong leadership during times of crisis when moral values were under threat in the globalized world.
Imam Fatemeyi Mirhamid Mammadov praised President Ilham Aliyev as a worthy successor to Heydar Aliyev’s legacy, emphasizing his commitment to upholding national moral values. He noted that the president’s practical actions have demonstrated his dedication to protecting rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
The main goal of the reforms implemented under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, based on national moral values, is to develop Azerbaijan as a strong, competitive state that can meet the challenges of the modern world.
