AIT officials visit International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization

The officials of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) visited International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC) under the guidance of AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov in the frame of the visit to Malaysia on April 29-30, 2019.

The AIT officials were thoroughly informed about ISTAC during the visit. Apart from the history and culture of Malaysia, the Institute also studies materials related to Islamic history and culture.

During the visit to the library of Syed Muhammad al Naquib al-Attas at ISTAC, the AIT team familiarized themselves with the manuscripts in the library. The library differs for its originality with rare manuscripts of different world countries. Visitors were informed about the collection of manuscripts, their maintenance, research and publication. The conveyance of manuscripts which are considered national wealth of Islamic world to younger generation is carried out successfully.

The necessity of access to archive and libraries for manuscripts and joint researches were discussed during the meeting.

AIT officials met with Galey Allahverdiyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Malaysia, in the frame of the visit.

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology attaches special attention to the cooperation with foreign higher education institutions. The Institute aims to benefit from the experience of the the foremost universities of the world, exchange students and expand inter-university relations for the organization of education based on modern requirements.
