AIT holds online meeting to discuss summer exam session

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) held an online meeting to discuss the summer exam session of the spring semester with the participation of the rector, institute administration, teachers and students. The session will start from June 8 and will last 5 weeks. The summer exam session will be conducted online according to the approved exam schedule.

The meeting discussed the assessment of students’ knowledge for the current semester, the organization of summer exam session and other issues.

AIT rector Agil Shirinov said that considering the postponement of the educational process in all educational institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the current teaching process was first conducted in the form of video lessons, later online on the Microsoft Teams platform in accordance with the recommendation of the Ministry of Education. Emphasizing the advantages of the Microsoft Teams platform, the rector noted that students who could not join online classes, had the opportunity to use the program later.

Rector A. Shirinov discussed the concessions during the exams confirmed by the AIT Academic Council and urged students to actively participate in online exams. He wished success to students stressing that the examination session will be organized in accordance with the existing rules and transparency will be ensured for the preparation of questions as well as the assessment of students' knowledge.

The meeting continued with discussions around the questions of students.

The educational process in all institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan was postponed since March 3, 2020 to stop the spread of COVID-19. The summer exam session of the 2019-2020 academic year will be conducted by higher education institutions in accordance with the relevant order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
