AIT holds a seminar on The Style and Expression in the Quran

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology held a seminar on The Style and Expression in the Quran presented by Nasrulla Mammadov.

The seminar was conducted by Ilkin Alimuradov, Head of the Department of Languages and Social Sciences. I.Alimuradov gave detailed information about seminars, roundtables, trainings on various topics aimed at enriching students’ worldview, intellectual level, spiritual world and interest in academic research. Mentioning the relevance of the topic, I. Alimuradov stressed the necessity of organizing such events for the development of students’ professional skills.

In his presentation on The Style and Expression in the Quran, Professor Nasrulla Mammadov informed the participants about the Arabic phrases in the holy book, their writing form and style. He noted that the elegance, literary devices and other features of the Holy Quran have always been the subject of study for theologians and oriental scholars. N. Mammadov said that the difference in the style of the Quran which combines the features of both poetry and prose as well as the conveyance of meaning in brevity attracts the attention of researchers.

N. Mammadov also noted that the harmony of meaning and expression between the ayas of different suras are preserved and no incoherence is observed in the transitions.

The event continued with discussions around the topic.
