AIT hosts a conference on Heydar Aliyev is the Winner of the Struggle of Azerbaijani People’s Salvation
On June 14, 2019, the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCRA) in partnership with Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) and the Institute of History named after A.A.Bakikhanov of ANAS organized a conference on Heydar Aliyev is the Winner of the Struggle of Azerbaijani People’s Salvation dedicated to the 15th of June, National Salvation Day.
The conference attendees first familiarized themselves with the exhibition of books on various historical subjects reflecting the life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev organized jointly by AIT and Institute of History named after A.Bakikhanov of ANAS in the library of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology. The Institute of History named after A.Bakikhanov of ANAS presented 2000 books with 300 titles to the institute library.
The conference was attended by Mubariz Gurbanli, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Jeyhun Mammadov, Rector of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology; academician Yagub Mahmudov, Director of the Institute of History named after A.A.Bakikhanov of ANAS and the officials of other organizations.
Opening the event, AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov welcomed the guests. He outlined the historical services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of the statehood and protection of independence of the country.
Rector Jeyhun Mammadov stressed that the return of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader, founder of the independent Azerbaijani state and world-famous political figure, entered the history of the country as a historic political event.
AIT rector mentioned the work carried out for the development of the state-religion relations formed by national leader Heydar Aliyev, activities implemented for the progress of the country and enrichment of national and spiritual values. He emphasized that the ideology of Azerbaijani nationalism formed by national leader Heydar Aliyev should be the guide in our lifestyle, behavior, mind, language, religion and literature.
The Rector noted that the services of President Ilham Aliyev, the follower of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s policy, are inimitable from the aspect of the protection of national and spiritual values and development of tolerance and multicultural traditions in the country.
Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, characterized June 15 as one of the memorable days in in the history of Azerbaijan. “The return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power meant the eternity of our national independence,” said Mubariz Gurbanli.
Mubariz Gurbanli noted that national leader Heydar Aliyev is one of those personalities who wrote history, created a chronicle and had the power to regulate the time. Preserving the development of Azerbaijan as an independent state and ensuring stability and solidarity in the country are related to the National Leader’s name. President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the strategy of economic and political activity formed by the National Leader.
The chairman of the SCRA stressed that the national leader Heydar Aliyev's return to political power is highly appreciated by our people.
Emphasizing that there was a necessity to establish such an institution under the government in the country, Mubariz Gurbanli said that the Institute will create a favorable educational environment for the training of highly qualified specialists.
Academician Yagub Mahmudov, Director of the Institute of History named after A.Bakikhanov of ANAS, mentioned the National Leader’s invaluable role in the establishment of the modern independent state, its development and promotion in the international arena. The development of Azerbaijan is illuminated by the light of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s genius and is grounded on strong and solid foundation for the future of the nation.
Academician Yagub Mahmudov noted that after the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power in 1993, Azerbaijan achieved success in all directions.
The academician stressed that the establishment of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology is a significant event for the country. He expressed his appreciation for the activities of AIT in the preparation of highly-qualified specialists in religious and Islamic studies.
