A two-day symposium on Ahmed bey Agaoglu, Outstanding Public and Political Figure of the Turkic World, continues with panel discussions on the second day

A two-day symposium on Ahmed bey Agaoglu, Outstanding Public and Political Figure of the Turkic World dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great thinker Ahmed bey Agaoglu, organized jointly by Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Istanbul Branch of Türk Ocakları and Istanbul Institute for Turkic Studies, is continuing with panel discussions.

The panels were conducted by professors Cezmi Bayram, Mubariz Suleymanli and Nasib Nasibli.

MP, PhD Fazil Mustafa; Professors Mubariz Suleymanli, Vagif Sultanli; Associate Professors Firdovsiyya Ahmedova, Farhad Jabbarov, Lala Hajiyeva, Mehmet Kaan Çelen, PhD Akif Valiyev and Haluk Kayıcı has delivered speeches in the panels.

The speakers touched upon the issues such as the struggle of national self-consciousness that reached the highest stage of its development in the early 20th century, Ahmed bey Agaoglu’s role in the development of national consciousness, independence of the country, enrichment of Azerbaijani treasury of spiritual ideas, as well as his traces in the history of our socio-political, literary-artistic and historical-philosophical thinking.

More than 20 speakers attended 6 panels with speeches at the conference. The articles submitted to the conference on Ahmed bey Agaoglu, Outstanding Public and Political Figure of the Turkic World by more than 20 scholars will be published.

It should be noted that AIT attaches particular importance to the promotion of our national-moral values, development of patriotic spirit in students, love and commitment to the homeland and the study of the life and creative activity of prominent Azerbaijani thinkers.
