AIT students visit Shirvanshah’s Palace Complex

A group of students from Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) visited Shirvanshah’s Palace Complex.

During the visit, the students were informed about the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, archeological excavations carried out in the place and inclusion of the complex in UNESCO World Heritage List. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs has peculiar traces in the history of Azerbaijani statehood with its 7 centuries existence. The students were informed about Shirvanshah rulers such as Fariburz II, Manuchehr III, Sheikh Ibrahim I and Khalilullah I who ruled during Reneissance period.

Visiting the Palace building, Divankhana, Bakuvi Mausoleum, Key Gubad Mosque, Murad’s Gate, Royal Mosque, Royal Bath Houses (hamam) and other buildings, the students got acquainted with interesting historical facts. The students also familiarized themselves with rare exhibits and material culture heritage belonging to Shirvanshahs period.

Excursion aroused great interest among students.

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology continues its series of events aimed at strengthening students’ intellectual level, enriching their spiritual world, patriotic feelings and studying historical and cultural heritage of the country.
