Conference on Contribution of Muslim Scholars to the Development of Science and Technology continues with panel discussions

The conference on Contribution of Muslim Scholars to the Development of Science and Technology organized jointly by Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT), Yunus Emre Baku Institute, Kırıkkale University and Fuat Sezgin Islamic History of Science Research Foundation continues with panel discussions.

Panels on “Services of Turkic-Muslim scholars in the Development of Exact, Natural and Humanitarian Sciences” and “Contribution of Muslim Scholars to Science and Technology as Research and Education: Methodological Issues, Historical Sources, Documents, Artifacts, Academic Collaboration on the Topic” were conducted by Musa Yıldız, Chairman of the Board of Ahmet Yasevi University and Agil Shirinov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations at Azerbaijan Institute of Theology.

The panels discussed the topics such as “Our Scientific Heritage and Future Insight”, “Development of History of Mathematical Thinking in Prof. Dr. Fuad Sezgin’s View”, “Science in the Modern Islamic World”, “Analysis of the Fuad Sezgin’s Approach to the Causes of Decline in the History of Islamic Science”, “Muslim Scholars Living in Turkistan by Armin Vamberi”, “Scientific Tafseer as a Manifestation of Innovation in Science and Religion Relations”, “The Reflection of Farabi’s Utopian Views in Azerbaijani Literature”, “The activity of Turkic-Muslim Intellectuals in the Literary, Pedagogical and Media Spheres in Shirvan, Azerbaijan (early19th and 20th centuries)”, Analysis of the Sructure of Qasida in ibn Quteyba’s Creative Activity”, “Innovations by Abdulqahir-al-Jurjani in Arabic Poetry: The Art of Talil” and “The Place of the Kitab-al-Musiqa al-Kabir by Turkic-Muslim scholar Abu Nasr al-Farabi.

The conference aims to explore the contributions made by Muslim scholars to science and technology as well as to create a platform for research, information and exchange of scholars and experts working in this area.
