AIT students visit the Azerbaijan National Library named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov
Students of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) under the guidance of the Student Scientific Society (SSS) visited the Azerbaijan National Library named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov.
Students were thoroughly informed about the history, activities and sections of the library. Apart from being the largest library in Azerbaijan, it is also known as one of the most significant national institutions in the Caucasus and Europe. The number of publications in the library is over 5 million.
The National Library is a leading institution in the field of bibliographic research, library studies and methodological center for all libraries of the country providing readers with complex library - bibliography, information services, interlibrary subscription, national bibliography, international and domestic depository center.
The National Library became the member of the International Organization of the Conference of European National Librarians in 2005. Azerbaijan is the second post-Soviet country to join this organization after Russia.
Students further familiarized themselves with the copies and departments of the fund.
Azerbaijan Institute of Theology organizes various events to enrich students’ world outlook and intellectual level, increase their interest in research activities as well as ensure their active use of libraries.
