The book written by Jeyhun Mammadov, Rector of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, has been published

The book entitled State-Religion Relations in Azerbaijan: Past and Present written by PhD Jeyhun Mammadov, Rector of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, has been published by the support of of the Fund for Propagation of Spiritual Values under the subordination of The State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The book consists of the chapters entitled State-Religion Relations in Azerbaijan, Legal Regulation of State-Religion Relations and Religious Education in Azerbaijan.

The author investigates three stages of state-religion relations in Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, Soviet Union and independent period. It gives thorough information on the attitude towards religion, works and activities carried out in religious field. Moreover, it touches upon the legal aspects of state-religion relations and the recent work implemented to combat radicalism.

The author notes that Azerbaijan has been a place where diverse nations and religions coexisted peacefully since the ancient times. Members of different religions have never been subject to discrimination during any period in history.

The book is intended for theologians, scholars of oriental studies, historians, religious researchers as well as teachers and students.

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology carries out a number of projects concerning the publication of books and textbooks. The project of Theological Publications includes the publication of books by the Institute teachers and specialists working in this field. Apart from this, the Institute aims to investigate the issues in the field of theology and publish researches that meet international requirements.
